Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of GuruToolkit ("the site", "we", "us"). By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. What the service is
GuruToolkit is a free, browser-based collection of utilities for working with PDF files, images, text, developer formats, and SEO. The site is provided as-is for personal and commercial use.
Most tools run entirely in your browser and do not upload your files. The exception is the PageSpeed Insights tool, which queries Google's public API from your browser using the URL you supply.
2. License to use the site
We grant you a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use the site for any lawful purpose, including commercial work. You may bookmark, link to, and share URLs to individual tools.
You may not:
These restrictions exist to keep the service free and available for everyone.
- Scrape, mirror, or systematically download the site or its tool outputs.
- Use automated tools (bots, crawlers, headless browsers) to interact with the site at a rate that exceeds what a normal user could produce by hand, or to bypass rate limits.
- Attempt to interfere with the site's operation, including by submitting malicious feedback or by attempting to inflate counters.
- Use the site to facilitate any activity that violates applicable law.
3. Your content
You retain all rights to the files and text you submit to our tools. Because our tools run in your browser, we never receive your files in the first place.
Feedback you voluntarily submit (via the feedback form on a tool page) is treated as content you have granted us a non-exclusive license to read, store, and use for the purpose of improving the site. We will not publish your feedback, email, or any identifier publicly. If you ask us to remove a piece of feedback, we will.
4. Third-party content and services
Some tools rely on third-party code or services. Examples include the PDF rendering engine (Apache-2.0), the OpenCV WASM build used by the watermark remover, and the Mermaid renderer used by the Markdown editor. Open-source components are used under their respective licenses (MIT / Apache-2.0 / ISC).
Some tools fetch resources from CDNs (e.g. jsDelivr) or from third-party APIs (e.g. Google PageSpeed). Your use of those third-party resources is governed by the third party's own terms. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content.
5. Third-party advertising
Some pages on the site display advertisements served by Google AdSense and other third-party ad networks. These ads are provided by automated systems over which we have limited day-to-day control.
Advertisers and their networks are solely responsible for the content of their advertisements — including any claims, guarantees, or representations made in the ad — and for ensuring that their advertising complies with all applicable advertising laws (including but not limited to the FTC endorsement guides, the EU unfair commercial practices directive, and equivalent local rules).
- We do not endorse, warrant, or guarantee the accuracy, legality, or fitness for any particular purpose of any advertised product, service, or website.
- Any commercial transaction you enter into with an advertiser is strictly between you and that advertiser. We are not a party to such transactions and accept no liability arising from them.
- We may receive compensation from advertisers for clicks, impressions, or conversions on ads displayed on the site. This compensation does not influence our editorial decisions, our tool roadmap, or how we respond to feedback.
- If you believe an ad on our site is misleading, offensive, or inappropriate, please contact us using the address in the footer so we can review the ad and, where appropriate, block the advertiser through our AdSense account controls.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
The site is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that defects will be corrected; nor do we warrant that the tools will produce results that meet your specific requirements.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the site, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Because the tools run in your browser, the best protection for important data is to keep your own copies of your files. We accept no liability for files lost or corrupted on your device.
8. Changes to the site and to these terms
We may add, modify, or remove tools at any time. We may also update these terms. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent change. Continued use of the site after a change indicates acceptance of the new terms.
9. Termination
We may suspend or block access to the site (or specific tools) for any user who violates these terms, abuses the API, or otherwise interferes with the site's operation. You may stop using the site at any time; clearing your browser's localStorage removes your anonymous visitor ID.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
